People fix their own devices.
When a check fails, they choose: follow a guide, or press Fix and approve the change. Then XFA checks again.
Two ways to fix it. They choose.
Every check has a guide. Where XFA can make the change, a Fix button sits beside it.
Resolve manually: the person opens the guide, goes to About Google Chrome and relaunches Chrome. Fix: the XFA app asks first, then updates Chrome itself. Either way Google Chrome is updated, and XFA checks again. Press any stop, a route's name or the passing check to go to that moment; three seconds later it plays on from there.
A guide wherever they are.

What needs attention, with Fix beside what XFA can change. Fix all takes what XFA can do in one go.

What Fix can do today.
After a yes, the XFA app makes the change. For the rest, it takes them to the right place, and every check has a guide.

Operating system updates
On Windows and Linux, XFA installs the update. On a Mac, it opens Software Update so they can finish it there.
System settings
XFA doesn't change these for them. On a Mac or Windows, the app opens the right settings page, they make the change, and XFA checks again.

Questions about fixing.
Compare plansWho writes XFA's fix guides?
XFA writes and maintains them. You can read the public fix guides (opens in a new tab) before you roll out.
How does Fix ask for permission?
Fix opens the XFA app on that computer. The app says what it will change and waits for a yes. Where a change needs admin rights, the operating system asks for the person's password. Once, for that change. XFA never handles it.
Does every check in XFA have a Fix button?
No. Fix covers browser privacy settings and updates, operating system updates, and security software your organization requires. For some other checks, such as the firewall or disk encryption, the XFA app on a Mac or Windows has a button that opens the right settings page, and the person makes the change there. Every check has a step-by-step guide, and on a phone, that guide is how people fix it.
Does Fix work on phones?
No. On a phone, each check opens a guide with numbered steps and a button that opens the right settings.
Can people keep working while something is unfixed?
With a warning, yes. If you turn on blocking, a device that is still not fixed after the days you set waits until it is.
Let people fix it themselves.
A guide for every check, a Fix button they approve, and XFA checks again after.
