About the role
As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll work closely with the founders and the product team on the technology behind XFA’s cybersecurity platform. You’ll design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, and fast software that protects organizations worldwide.
This role suits someone who loves technology, is curious about cybersecurity, and wants their work to count. You’ll work across backend, desktop, and mobile applications, and what you build goes straight into the product.
It is a fast track to becoming a technical leader.

XFA is a Belgian start-up that builds device security for companies around the world.
XFA checks every laptop and phone when someone signs in to their work apps, and people fix what it finds themselves. It works without an MDM, and it does not collect personal files, messages, or browsing history.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain software in Golang, Flutter, and TypeScript.
- Build secure, scalable back-end technology used around the world.
- Add features on both desktop and mobile operating systems.
- Write automated tests and keep the code reliable.
- Work with a small, fast-moving team to build new features and solve technical problems.
- Review code and make sure it meets our coding standards and security practices.
- Keep improving developer workflows, build processes, and documentation.
Requirements
- Strong experience in software development with Golang, or familiarity with languages such as Python, .NET, or Java and a willingness to learn Golang.
- An understanding of software security principles and an interest in cybersecurity.
- Clear communication, both asynchronous and synchronous.
- Comfortable working independently and taking initiative in a fast-moving start-up.
- Experience with Flutter, React, or TypeScript is a plus.
- Experience with an AI-assisted development workflow is a plus.
- Experience building cross-platform applications for Windows, macOS, or Linux is an advantage.
- Fluent in English. Other European languages (e.g. French, German, Dutch) are a plus.
